World Expo 2010 Shanghai China will be co-hosted by Chinese government and International Bureau of Exposition from May 1st to October 31st of 2010. The theme of the Exposition 2010 Shanghai is 'Better City, Better Life'and the sub-themes are 'Blending of diverse cultures in the city', 'Economic prosperity in the City', 'Innovation of science and technology in the city','Remodeling of communities in the city'and'Rural-Urban Interaction'.Shanghai World Expo 2010 will be another great event which splendidly interpret the progress of human civilization.

As a backbone state-owned enterprise, State Grid Corporation of China (hereinafter referred to as " SGCC" ) 's core business is to build and operate power grids and provides secure and reliable power supply for the development of the national economy and people's life.With the service area covers 26 provinces,autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the jurisdiction of Central Government, the number of population being served by SGCC exceeds one billion.SGCC ranks the 29th among the Global Fortune 500 enterprises in 2007 and is the largest public utility company in the world.

To make Expo 2010 Shanghai China a "Successful,Splendid and Unforgettable" great event that brings the rest of the world closer to China and merge China with the rest of the world is the common wish of all the Chinese people as well as the common wish of all the staff of SGCC. On December 17 in 2007,SGCC officially signed an agreement with the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination,henceforth became the global partner of World Expo 2010 Shanghai for the supply and service of electricity.The SGCC Enterprise Pavilion at World Expo 2010 Shanghai is an important platform to promote the global strategy of the company and is of great significance in displaying the corporate culture, building up corporate image as well as enhancing brand recognition.

1.The applicant shall be any professional design institution and relevant design unit with valid existence either in China or in other countries.

2.The applicant shall commit to contributing its wisdom to World Expo 2010 Shanghai China. The number of schemes submitted is unrestricted.

3.Any individual or organization that participates in the organizing and evaluating activities of the solicitation is unqualified.

The theme,key words and central concepts of the SGCC Enterprise Pavilion at Shanghai World Expo 2010 will be "nature,human beings,city,electricity,life and beauty". The main contents of the Scheme shall include the theme,idea and conceptual design of the SG Enterprise Pavilion at Expo 2010 Shanghai China,which may demonstrate but not limited to the following points:

1.Distinctive theme. It shall conform to the theme of "Better City, Better Life" of Expo 2010 Shanghai China,as well as demonstrate and interpret it from multi-dimension.

2.Unique presentation. The contents, techniques and ways of presentation shall be creative, unique,interactive,experiencing,have interesting plots and show the concept of "Harmonious Grid, Veins of the City".

3.The Scheme shall present the role and influence of electricity on the progress of the human society and civilizations.

4.The Scheme shall show the talents, wisdom and life experience of the general public.

5.The Scheme shall look into the future that human beings develop in harmony with the nature,and electricity will play a crucial role in raising living standards of urban people.

6.The Scheme shall present the latest development of economic and efficient power transmission technology and the innovation achievements of the SGCC:

7.The Scheme shall demonstrate the concept of "Providing Energy-saving, Environmentally-friendly Solutions"of SGCC that helps achieve a sustainable development of the company and the sense of social responsibility that features 'Making headway,Servicing the Society, People-oriented,and Achieving Common Growth of the Company':

8.The Scheme shall demonstrate the distinctive innovative concepts and corporate culture of SGCC:

9.Any ideas with better concepts are not restricted by the above-mentioned requirements.

The applicant shall deliver the application documents to the China Conference & Exhibition Magazine Agency via registered mail or door-to-door service. The deadline is March 31,2008.

(4)Letter of undertaking by the applicant (original version)

2.Pattern of the Scheme
(1)The Scheme shall be printed on A3 paper and appropriately mounted,including design concept and background explanation.
(2)With broad thoughtfulness and international vision,the applicant may add uniqueness and innovation from the aspect of full expression of the design rationales.
(3)Design explanation should be brief and clear,with accurate wording and complete expatiation of design rationales,conception and tactics.
(4)Other relevant materials to be delivered together with the Scheme,including disc submitted together with hard copies,which contains electronic copy of design effect and explanation.
(5)The applicant shall download the form from the authorized official website and fill it out with black or blue ink.All printed copies shall be stamped with official seals in condition that the applicant is an organization,or marked with genuine signature in condition that the applicant is an individual.

(6)Institution applicant shall add official seals in the letter of undertaking：individual applicant shall sign in person.

3.The applicant shall mail or deliver the well-sealed scheme,application form and the“letter of undertaking”to the China Conference & Exhibition Magazine Agency within the time frame stated above and by procedures stated in the document.The applicant shall keep the manuscript himself,for the Host will not return the documents to the applicant.

4.The Host shall recognize the scheme conforming to the above requirements as the valid one,which is qualified for the solicitation.

5.All the application forms and"Letter of undertaking"shall be downloaded from the authorized website.

6.All the application documents and relevant materials to be delivered shall be stated in Chinese.

7.The applicant shall ensure the originality of the documents that are genuine and have never been published. Obvious distinction is needed for the documents in case that the applicant is involved in other projects of World Expo 2010 Shanghai,and the novelty of the documents shall not be reduced due to such involvement.

The Scheme shall be delivered no later than 24:00,Peking Time,March 31 of 2008 (hereinafter referred to as the 'Deadline').The delivery time of the documents is the time of the Postmark. There is no other cost for the application requested by the Host.

After the Deadline,the Host will organize expert panel for appraisal of the Scheme. With primary appraisal,review and final selection,the result will be opened on April 30 2008 and will be published on China Conference & Exhibition Magazine and China Conference & Exhibition Online Website.

The Host will organize the expert panel for formulation of appraisal procedures and relevant standards.

With selection and appraisal by the panel,the Host will shortlist and reward the top 12 schemes and input the applicant information into service supplier database of the SG Enterprise Pavilion.The candidates among top 6 will be given priority for the legal design bidding procedure of the SG Enterprise Pavilion at World Expo 2010 Shanghai China.

(1)The applicant should be the legal owner of its scheme with copyright:copyright infringement of others is not allowed. In case of copyright infringement,the applicant involved shall bear corresponding legal responsibilities:the sponsor will bear no responsibility for this.The Host has gratuitous rights of revelation,use and modification to the schemes rewarded.

(2)Design conception and content of the scheme delivered are protected by related laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China regarding intellectual property rights.

1.By submission of the scheme,applicants'acknowledgement and acceptance for all the stipulations of public solicitation are regarded.

2. The Host is responsible for the interpretation and explanation of all the documents related to the solicitation activities including this announcement.All the matters not yet covered herein will be further stated or interpreted by the Host.

3. The Host will bear no responsibility for any loss and damage to the files due to mailing delay,loss of mail,wrong mailing,underpaid mailing,theft or any other reason unrelated to the Host.
